God said after the flood He would never do it again... will He?
: In the book of Genesis it says that God will not destroy all of mankind the way he did with Noah and the flood. So why is it in Revelations that all of mankind (aside from those who have been saved) will be destroyed during the tribulation?
ANSWER: To answer the question precisely, we have to know the signs of the Hour first (judgment day). From an Islamic prospective the following signs have been quoted from the sayings of prophet Mohammad and the Holy Quran. There are minor and major signs of the Hour.The Minor Signs: 1. The coming of the prophet Mohammed. 2. Splitting the moon.3. The defeat of Rome.4. Shepherds will compete in the instruction of tall buildings. 5. Knowledge of Islam will be taken away while ignorance will increase. 6. The population of men will decrease and women increase till fifty women shall be for every man.7. Drinking and fornication will increase heavily. 8. People will claim to be prophets.9. There will be such an abundance of wealth that people will not be able to find recipient of charity.10. Killing will increase.11. Time will be shortened so that the year, like a month, a month like a day, and a day like an hour.12. Earthquakes will increase in numbers.13. A person will pass by graves and wish to trade places out of despair. Now the Major Signs which will happen within a very, very short time before the Hour:1. False Massaya will come claiming to be God. 2. Al-Mahdi will come; he will call to the truth.3. Jesus will come back and appears in Damascus, Syria.4. An animal will talk to people. 5. Gog and Magog will break free of the damn that holds them back, and ravage the earth.6. Three places in the world will sink and be swallowed up by the earth, one in the west, one in the east, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. 7. Fire will come from the area of Aden in Yemen.8. The sun will rise from the west.9. Smoke will appear all over the earth.When Prophet Mohammad was asked about the Hour, the answer came from God as a revelation to Mohammad saying, "They ask you (O Mohammad) about the Hour - when will be its appointed time? You have no knowledge to say anything about it. To your Lord belongs the term thereof. You (O Mohammad) are only a Warner for those who fear it. The day they see it, as if they had not tarried except as afternoon or a morning". Now what is the relationship between the Hour and the Middle East? None whatsoever. It has been the habit for thousands of years that people always connect worldly affairs to the Hour. In fact there were many sects of religions who thought the Hour was going to be in the end of 2000. Nothing happened. What is happening in the Middle East today is a copy and paste of what has happened to other civilizations, nations or countries. It may seem that the only boiling area is the Middle East; however, yesterday it was other nations. Review the history. The American Civil War is not too far from us.None of the prophets or messengers of God has ever claimed that they knew the Hour; neither do the Holy books of God state such a claim. Therefore, we as normal people have to concentrate on working for that day, working for the Hour instead of predicting it. We need to work for the Hour as if we are dying tomorrow, and work for the hereafter as if we are living forever. None of us will live on this earth forever. Our Hour is approaching, and the best to who have worked for it.
