A better way to store info?
: How can scanning be helpful?
ANSWER: Most business documents are created digitally using a computer. However, every business already has thousands of hard copy documents stored in file cabinets, boxes, basements, closets and inconvenient off-site locations. When one of these stored documents is needed, retrieval can be a real headache. How many times have you asked yourself, "Isn't there a better way to store this info?"High resolution scanning technology has been available for some time. It is usually done with a dedicated desktop scanner connected to a computer. These scanners are generally very slow and time consuming particularly when scanning a multi-page document. Because of these limitations, scanning has not achieved much success in the corporate world. With the introduction of networked, digital multifunctional devices (mfp's), effective scanning has become a reality. These mfp's offer document feeders capable of scanning both single and two-sided multi-page originals with lightning speed. Control panels walk users through the available file formats and resolution levels that offer the best choices for the user's applications.Scanned documents can be named, distributed and stored at one device. This enables users to then e-mail, fax and store, and retrieves documents in seconds with ease. The benefit from this technology is better image quality while saving valuable time and office space. Today, document scanning promises greater productivity in the workplace and it is as easy to use as your office copier!
