How do I find a bra that flatters?
: Is there a bra that will enhance my small bust without looking fake?
ANSWER: And again I quote Oprah Winfrey, "The right bra will make you look 10 pounds thinner and can reverse the aging process by 10-20 years." Believe me, looking thinner with a properly fitted bra will naturally enhance your bustline. Every woman, from puberty throughout life, should wear properly fitted bras. This would help her not only to look and feel her best, but to enjoy better health through a very vital step in proper breast care. An ill-fitting bra displaces this tissue, pushing it under the arm, flattening it farther over the chest wall, or allowing the breast to become drooping and pendulous.  Normally, the breast is subjected to being bumped or bruised because of its unprotected position, up front in the way of the arms. It is also subjected to movement and stretch due to the pull of gravity with every step if not properly supported. It is also subject to changes due to the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and lactation. Then to add an ill-fitting bra as a constant irritant is foolish, to say the least. The breast is a woman's most distinctive feminine feature that gives her beauty and sex appeal, yet most women do not properly take care of their breasts or make the most of their finest feature. Ill-fitting bras give little or no support and can distort the breast tissue, often impeding circulation and even dividing the tissue of one breast into separate glandular masses. Wearing a proper orthopedic type bra that is custom fit will give her proper support. The breast is composed of adipose tissue (fat), glandular epithelium, ducts, blood vessels, lymph vessels, a stroma of supporting collagenous fibers, and the covering skin. This is all superimposed upon the normal musculature of the chest wall. Exercise will tone up the muscles and even increase their size. The breast, though, is on top of these muscles and is probably as soft and pliable as any tissue in the entire human body. The small busted woman usually does not make the most of what she has. She wears a padded bra that gives her a false front but also flattens and spreads her breast tissue over her chest wall and impedes circulation through the tissue. Often glandular tissue is cut off from the main tissue mass inside the bra. The separation of a breast can cause mastitis or other health problems during pregnancy and lactation. Also, there is little or no support for the tissue. When all her breast tissue is repositioned inside the cup of a properly fitted orthopedic type bra, the small busted woman will usually have a figure, all her own tissue, larger than her former false front. The women with an adequate amount of breast tissue should be desirous to maintain a good youthful bustline, yet most women so blessed buy bras that not only do not adequately support and protect their breast but the bras they wear are really a source of irritation as well. Through the years many of these women develop a pendulous, matronly look because of the lack of support in a properly fitted bra. There is movement with each step, so the collagenous fibers supporting the tissue are stretched. Stretch marks are visible in the skin.  Lack of proper support allows the breast tissue to become more pendulous. Regardless if women have a small or ample bustline, a properly fitted bra of the right type, worn through the years, will keep that youthful figure a woman desires. This is why a woman should choose an orthopedic type bra, which can only be properly fitted by a qualified fitter.
