Joyland opens Memorial weekend
Question: Is Wichita going to have an amusement park this summer?
ANSWER: Let me do my best to answer by providing you with the recent press release.May 18, 2006 Joyland Amusement Park proudly announced today that the ownership and purchase terms of the park have been finalized.  “We are very excited that all of the terms of the agreement have been finalized and improvements to the park may continue,” says Stan Nelson.  “The T-Rex Group will provide wonderful opportunities for Joyland – modernizing a park that is a legacy in Wichita without losing its core identity.”For the past two months, the new owners have dedicated more than a quarter of a million dollars and all available resources to long-term repairs, park improvements, ride evaluation, service priorities, training, and more. It is unfortunate that the delays have occurred but should in no way reflect poorly on the T-Rex Group says Stan and Margaret Nelson.  “We would like to take this opportunity to wish them well in their endeavor and offer our full support.”Joyland plans to open Memorial Day weekend with all rides available.  The new owners also reiterate that customers will not only see tangible improvements, but a new approach to customer service and the integration of technology throughout the park in the months to come.“The list of improvements is significant but attainable as long as no further delays are experienced, “ say Michael Moodenbaugh.  “We are pleased with the agreement terms and excited to bring Joyland back to Wichita, with the support of Stan and Margaret Nelson.”For more information or to schedule an event, please send an e-mail message to Joyland at groupsales@joylandamusementpark.com, visit the website at http://www.joylandamusementpark.com/, or cal (316) 684-0179
