Will there ever be anything more than what we have in the Bible?
I wonder why God had the Bible and Koran (Quran) written, for all future generations of mankind, by people from around 1500 B.C. to the first few centuries A.D.   Why did He not allow for other people to be so inspired as to write additional books through the present day? Is everything, that any generation ever needs to know, contained in what we already have?
When it comes to hearing a new revelation from God we might ask, “Is there any more?”  Has God any additional word to say to us about creation, life, salvation, heaven, or hell?  Why haven’t we seen or heard anymore “new” revelations? To answer that question I had to go to the revealed Word of God and there I find the writer of Hebrews express these words, Hebrews 1:1-3 “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”These verses tell us that God spoke to men at different times and in different ways about the coming of the Savior of the World.  Now Jesus has come as the cumulation of all those bits and pieces of truth given by those men at different times and different ways.  “Jesus is the Revelation.  Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life.”  John 14:6Therefore no additional information needs to come to us, no new revelations about a new truth, or new way of life.I also believe (2 Timothy 3:16) that the Bible is the only book that is God breathed.  The Bible is the only book that reveals Substitutionary Atonement.  That is, every other book says man is bad and must pay for his “bad”.  The Bible makes it very clear (Romans 5:8, 6:23, I Timothy 1:15, I Corinthians 15:3) Jesus took our place and paid the price for our sin.  No other author of any other book died and rose again for me or you!“Is there anymore?”  There is NO new revelation but the final revelation we will experience when we see Jesus face to face and simply say Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!
