Is it really true that more than half of all people are not saved?
There are several verses in the Bible that deal with how many people are saved. Matthew 7:13-14: Enter through the narrow gate. The gate that leads to damnation is wide, the road is clear, and many choose to travel it. But how narrow is the gate that leads to life, how rough the road, and how few there are who find it! And Luke 13:24: Try to come in through the narrow door. Many, I tell you, will try to enter and be unable. Do these mean that more than half of all people are not saved?
The quotations are clear: The majority will be wrong! A minority will choose God’s invitation. We wish it were not so, but an examination of history reveals that this is the case, agreeing with God’s prediction.
Sin is attractive and the Devil is clever. Humans usually choose what appears to be the easy way. The situation was so desperate that God, to rescue us, had to become man, live among us and allow us to do our worst to Him. He died in our place to save us. Even then, His prediction that the majority would reject His salvation has proven to be true. Those of us who have accepted Christ’s salvation must devote our lives to helping others to receive the free gift of life under Christ’s direction...for here and eternity. “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him......whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:17-18 “God demonstrates His love for us: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:6
