Fallen angels
Question: What do we know about the fall of the angels prior to the beginning of man? Where in the Bible does it tell us about this?
Answer: From the beginning, angels were part of the divine hierarchy. They were created beings (Ps.148:2,5) and were exuberant witnesses when God brought the world into being (Job 38:7). By nature, they were spiritual entities and not subject to the limitations of human flesh. But angels could behave foolishly (Job. 4:18). Probably these quantities led to the “fall” of some angels, including Satan. See (Jude 6)....and especially Isaiah 14:12-15: “How you (Lucifer) have fallen from Heaven, O Morning Star, Son of the Dawn. You have been cast down to the earth....you said in your heart, “I will ascend to Heaven, I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the grave; to the depths of the pit”! Rev.12:7 speaks of “the Dragon and his angels”. We must assume that there is a real kingdom of evil, in grotesque caricature of the angelic kingdom. These and their leader have been defeated at the cross (Col.2:15) and will finally be condemned (Matt.25:41).
