Fashion trends for winter
Question: What are some of the hot fashion trends for winter?
Answer: This winter, construct your own definition of beauty. The trend so far has been to stand out from the crowd by creatively using colors, shapes and materials in an entirely new context. Follow your imagination in a self-assured, but controlled manner and you can’t go wrong. Colors: The most successful color fashions have been a balancing act between deep darks, neutrals and intense colors. Purple is definitely one of the hot colors this winter. Selecting colors from this range guarantees multicolored harmony. Fabrics of all types are in style this winter. Traditional fabrics include colored flannels, reefer broadcloths, flecked and muted tweeds, micro patterns and woolly mock plains. Casual styles utilize dense and clean denims, thick cotton sateens, twills, basic fleeces and compact jerseys. For something a little more glitzy, glazed nylons, varnished cloths, oilcloth and vinyl materials are in. Lurex, sparkling jerseys, chocolate paper taffetas are great for tops and dresses. For bric-a-brac patterns, you can find inspiration in Berber stripes, Russian or Japanese-style floral prints, scarf motifs, patchwork, camouflage, tapestry florals, tartans and ikat geometrics. Mix patterns together and make them seasonless. In search of out-of-the-ordinary shapes, layering and proportions, many people have found success with mock plain masculine coats, kurta robes or kimono coats to wear over city jogging pants. Mismatching suits creates a relaxed look and doubles as non-standard workwear. Use plains to tone down the profusion of decoration and highlight your figure by using elongated, body-sculpting, boxy or cropped shapes. Be bold with blousons, reefers, sweats or bell-bottoms with flat hips and a waist in the right place. Peg-top pants with deep pleats and slim pants with raised waist are also great. Use thick wool, fur yarns and heavy gauge fabrics for a handmade effect. Mix kitsch and couture effectively with large-sized graphic jacquard motifs, two- or three-color geometrics and folkloric patterns for oversize puffed coats and sweaters. Exaggerate the details with over inflated, too-long sleeves or too-short pants. Create abundant mixes and layering in a hippy revival style. In knit, shake up proportions, shift buttoning and have fun with trims. Giant bows, maxi ribbing, embroidered decoration, dramatic cable, feathers, fringe and faux-fur are sensational details. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Plastic chic is in with distorted shapes and offshoots, unexpected materials, low boots, classic multi-pocket bags, resin, PVC and smooth or quilted cotton jersey. Get away from the ordinary with rhinestone accents on sport shoes, glitter scribble prints on ankle boots, bags reinforced with lamés or sparkling colored mirrors. Shake up taboos and break away from conformity. Turn the absurd and uncommon into chic couture. Act through color, shape and material to transform everyday clothing into fashion statements. Reinterpret and play with all sorts of eclectic cultural references without ever taking yourself seriously. Dare to experiment and follow through with confidence!
