New look on a tight budget
Question: Can you give me some ideas on giving a fresh new look to any given room on a limited budget?
Answer: A word that is used so much today in decorating is redesign. This is a wonderful way for people to get a great new look without spending any or very little money. Start with repositioning of your furniture, sometimes even removing some pieces from the room and taking the artwork down, even your clocks and mirrors. Rearranging these pieces makes a huge difference in appearance of the room. If you have silk flower arrangements, take the stems out of the vases and give them a bath in a tub with mild detergent, then let them air dry. Place these back in a different mix and you have fresh looking arrangements. Window treatments are another way of waking up your room. Take the window coverings off and polish those windows until they shine. If you decide to put the curtains back up, look for a way to reconfigure the way they were. These are just a few of many ideas to give you that fresh new look you’re looking for.
