Can massage therapy provide preventative care?
Q: Can massage help provide preventative care for cysts or even cancer in my breasts?
A: Yes. Breast cancer preventative maintenance begins with you. Self care is one of the most crucial tools you have. Because of the blood flow and lymph, your breast should be a pinkish color.
If your breast are pure white, cracking or dull looking, it is time for a makeover. Start by washing the area, while in the shower/bath you can feel for any lumps or irregularities. By doing this on a regular basis you will know if something appears or a lump forms. After drying the area, using your fingers, you will feel softness and a slight give to them. You can use a hydration lotion or even better is fresh aloe vera gel (directly from the plant). The aloe vera is a two phase approach. Once dried, the aloe protects and moisturizes the tissue, the second part, it is a firming component. Over a period of time, the breast will become more upright and firm.
To begin the massage, using your right hand cup the bottom of your left breast and work your way upwards (using your fingers) on the right side of the breast. Always go in an upwards motion. Next, use your left hand on your right breast, cup it, then going upwards from middle outwards. Next, using your forefinger to clean out the milk line (the groove directly under the breast center), work from under the breast up towards the nipple. After both breast are worked on, time to relieve tension and congestion.
Release the nipple using your index finger. Take in a deep breath, press in the top of the nipple and straight inwards while vibrating it, while exhaling. Repeat several times till the tension is gone.
