From the Publisher
Welcome to the April Edition of the SE Kansas Q&A Times Journal. You are much appreciated for picking up our publication and reading it on a monthly basis. Thank you for joining us...
If you have never read my business partner Charlies’ “What’s New” column, I encourage you to please do so this month. This edition is in loving memory of Charlie’s late wife Brenda, who recently passed away. I didn’t know Brenda really well, but I did get to witness pieces of her and Charlie’s relationship during the last year or so, all during her fight with cancer. All I can say is she was a true inspiration, a total sweetheart, and I never saw her frown once. Each morning she would come down, greet us all, then give Charlie that loving smile and a kiss, wishing him and all of us well before she went on with her day. I know that she will be extremely missed, but I also know that she left the world a better place than when she found it. Something Charlie will and forever appreciate. My condolences to him and his family...
As the publisher, I have to say that I have the best job around. What could be better than connecting readers to local answers and solutions to their problems or general areas of interest? We are all about community in a time when others have long forgotten the value and power of connection. That is what makes SE Kansas so different, and that is what makes this publication different than any other. You may (or may not) like or necessarily agree with some of the things found within these pages...I don’t know...but more than likely after reading several columns as well as those you’ve come to expect, you will have a sense of connection with its contributors, as you already have. Thank you all for being such a valued part of this community of readers, workers, leaders and volunteers.
Speaking of volunteers, be sure to dig in to the publication and read the article by Stephanie Webb of Mosaic who answers a reader’s question about volunteerism. She offers some great ideas on ways you can make a difference in your community.
Elsewhere in the publication, you will find a wealth of valuable tips on things like factoring in long-term care by Seth Holder of Edward Jones, and how to rock a retro wardrobe by Ruth Wegner of Everything Sew Sew.
I would like to thank our contributors for providing all of our timely content. They are the heart of the publication because they are passionate business owners and community leaders who have invested their lives into the community. Also, thank you readers for all of your questions. Please keep the questions coming! If we do not have the answers, we will happily find experts within the community. Please direct questions to myself, Jerod, at jnorris@chartmarketing.com or my assistant editor Jeanie Erwin at Jeanie@chartmarketing.com.
