What are the home decor trends for spring?
Q-I am wondering if anyone has done any trend spotting for home décor this Spring? What is your take?
A-It is definitely time for 2013 trend spotting! This is true because home trends closely follow trends on the catwalk, and we are in the midst of Fashion Week. So, to get a good idea of what is hot for the home, look no further than your favorite designers for some inspiration. This year, Spring interior design is strongly influenced by nature. Shades of white, brown natural tones, wooden surfaces, rattan and other simple, natural materials set the foundation for the fresh new trend theme named ”Fresh”. Expect to see a lot of a color being called "spicy fudge" which is sort of between a fudge and butterscotch color. Another favorite and playful color is a one that is a gray/lilac, which works well when accessorizing. One of the hottest trends is taking these colors and putting them against a bold and unexpected background, such as using wood and rattan against a bold colored wall. If you love a punch of color, there is something for you too. Tribal trends bring in a host of colors, patterns, and textures. Both in fashion and in interior design, today's trends invite you mix patterns and play with color. The best thing about design today is that it encourages experimentation. It reflects a new optimistic outlook that embraces individual style. You will find that whatever you love in color or accessories will find a home in your Spring design.
