Slots and winning
Question: How does a slot machine work? Is it programmed to pay off certain amounts within a specific period of time or is it purely random? Is it possible some machines haven't paid off for say a year or so?
Answer:  Each slot machine contains a computer chip that randomly selects game outcomes.  There are many different types of slot games and they all have different hit frequencies.  This randomness effects how often and how much the machine pays out.  Casino personnel cannot effect individual game outcomes … how you do on any given day is a matter of chance, luck and timing. Some casinos offer players cards that track play and issue comps, coupons and rewards based on the length of play and the amount of money bet.  Usage of these cards in no way effects the outcome of the game.  These programs are simply a means to reward players based on their tracked play.
