Why can’t you use a pill for chelation?
QUESTION:  Why can't chelation therapy be done with a pill instead of intravenously?
ANSWER:  When we ingest a pill, it is digested in the stomach, absorbed through the intestine, and metabolized in the liver. Let's look at two natural chelates. Chlorophyll, the plant-greening pigment, is a chelate of magnesium. Hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying pigment of red blood cells, is a chelate of iron. Free hemoglobin (outside the red blood cell) is metabolized by the liver (broken down) to iron and bilirubin, which, in excess causes the yellow color of jaundice. So, it should be clear that the best route to achieve consistent, effective, and SAFE concentrations of EDTA, is the intravenous route. That way, we get the BENEFIT before the liver has a chance to break it down and the kidney has a chance to excrete it.
