Fun... inexpensive shower gifts
ANSWER:  Kitchen gadgets are both useful and inexpensive. There are hundreds of kitchen gadgets for using everyday or just every once in a while. Gadgets are the tools that make cooking fun! Host a gadget shower and create the games around the gifts. Compile a collection of gadgets (many can be purchased for $1 or less), make a game of guessing what each unique gadget is used for. The winner receives the gadget as a prize, and a duplicate gadget goes to the bride to be. For gift giving, pair a gadget with a simple hand written recipe on a note card. Supply all the dry ingredients needed to complete the recipe, along with instructions to utilize the gadget. Or, purchase a breadbasket or other useful container and fill with an assortment of handy gadgets such as:• Egg Slicer, Egg Separator, Egg Timer• Self-Stick Hooks• Nylon Baster• Rubber Jar and Cap Opener• Chrome Whisks in various sizes• Serving Tongs• Melon Baller• Corkscrew/Bottle Opener• Potato Peeler• Bag ClipsSome fun gift gadget pairings to consider:• Bakeware Buddy- a plastic knife suitable for cutting your baked goods right in the baking pan without scratching the pan. Great for brownies! Wrap with a nice non-stick finish baking pan, and a box of Brownie mix.• Chocolate Chipper- as you might expect, it is used to chip up a block of chocolate into little pieces. Length is about 9 inches, with aluminum prongs and a wooden handle. Pair with a non-stick cookie sheet and a cookie dropper.• Stainless Cookie Dropper- this gadget lets you drop cookie dough directly onto the cookie sheets without using your finger to scrape the ball of dough off. It may not be as much fun, and there are no fingers to lick, but it makes dropping chocolate chip cookies a whole lot easier.• Spring Loaded Pickle Pincher- a plastic device with a spring loaded set of fine wires that will jump out and grab those elusive pickles or olives! Not a kitchen necessity, but it's fun, and every party should have one of these!
