Non-surgical face lift?
ANSWER:  You are right; it's very exciting right now in the skin care industry! There is a lot of hype about new and improved facial machines that are suppose to leave the skin smoother, reduce wrinkles and can take years off the skin. I have even heard professionals refer to these machines as a "non-surgical facelift".   I am talking about two different types of machines: one that offers light therapy and lifting benefits to the skin, and the other is a micro-epidermabrasion machine. Of course, there are different manufacturers that have developed these machines. I will speak on the two manufacturers I am familiar with, the Soli-Tone/Lumicell Touch and the S.T. Peel machines. There is a lot of information on these services, so I will address this question in a two parts, August and September issues of The Q&A Times. The Soli-Tone/Lumicell Touch is a machine that offers two major benefits to the skin.  Light Therapy and Skin Lifting. There are distinctive treatments for the facial skin and for the body. This machine offers a wide variety of treatments, suitable to all skin types, colors and aging. Each is tailored to treat every client's specific problems. This is a high technology professional apparatus designed exclusively for qualified and trained technicians.  Make sure your service is performed by a technician who has had the proper training. The Light Therapy facial treatment dates back to the Egyptian, Roman, and Greek civilizations. Temples were built to honor the healing therapeutic benefits of light in healing mind, body, and soul. The light is divided into seven basic colors, each corresponding to a precise energy vibration and wave length on the electro magnetic spectrum. The basic colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. This multi-colored light penetrates skin layers to target common skin problems such as minor acne, redness, uneven pigmentation and sun damage. Light is energy, light is heat, and light stimulates life. It improves circulation and stimulates red blood cell production. The light promotes cellular regeneration from within. Sounds wonderful…doesn't it?The Light Therapy facial treatment can be combined with the Lumi-Lift facial. This combines the light therapy with micronized currents. This is the non-surgical facelift that can turn back the clock on aging skin. The micronized current stimulates to lift and tone sagging skin. The electrodes stimulates and resembles the biological currents your body produces to tighten muscles. This is the ultimate treatment. The Light Therapy/Lumi-Lift facial treatment is usually a 60 minute treatment and costs an average of $100-$150 a session. There are usually special price rates for purchasing a package of treatments. You can schedule this service over a lunch hour, reapply your make up and go right back to work. The best results are when the treatment is done weekly for 10-14 sessions. You should be able to see a visible difference after the first treatment. Improvements can continue for up to 3 months after the first session.  However, most people will need more than one treatment session. You will love it because it is remarkably relaxing and invigorating at the same time. This treatment can also be preformed on the body skin. Soli-Tone attacks the problems from the inside. It leaves the outer skin completely intact, so there is no visible damage to the skin.    The concept behind this non-invasive technology originates from the need to find a more comprehensive way of treating the appearance of cellulite. The combination of vacuum subdermal tissue massages with infra red and magenta light treatment can create dramatic advancements in cellulite treatment. It will increase vascularity (circulation), stimulates the production of collagen, and the release of adenosine triphosphate (carrier of energy to all cells), and increase lymphatic system activity, helps damaged cells be replaced more promptly and stimulates fibrolastic activity which aids in the repair process. This treatment is usually a 45 minute treatment and costs from $100-$150 a treatment session.   Again, there are usually special price cuts for purchasing a package of treatments. To achieve the best results sign up for 14-16 treatment sessions.I am looking forward to discussing micro-epidermabrasion in the next issue.Remember…  Beauty comes from within… within bottles, compacts, jars and now machines!
