Why don’t ‘you guys’ do a list?
ANSWER: What a great idea! Thank you.You are right. So often, businesses continue to do business with the same vendors because that's the way it's always been. We hear it too. If prospective vendors could get close to the same price as present vendors, many businesses would swing their business to a new vendor, if they could get better service and be taken care of more professionally. Over the years, we have received lots of good suggestions and ideas from our readers. This has to be among the best. We’ll do it. But to make it most useful, we will need to hear from as many businesses as possible. We reach a lot of them. In addition to the thousands of households that receive The Q & A Times, whether inserted in a publication to which they already subscribe, or by direct mail, our publication goes to as many as twice the number of businesses as does any other publication in the market. We need to hear from each of you. In building the criteria for this list, we have only two rules for submitting names:1. The individual (and his or her company) who nominates the businesses as their Best Vendors of 2005, will remain anonymous. After all, we are not wanting to alienate any vendor by a business nominating another vendor; and2. The only two attributes to consider for those businesses being nominated are their service and professionalism displayed in 2005. We need to know the name of the vendor, the primary contact's name, the vendor’s address, phone number and e-mail address if they have one. Then, in 25 words or less, why they are your best vendor, or one of your best vendors, of 2005.Think about it. Who was always there when you needed them last year? Who was it that you could always depend on, whether in a crisis or just regular everyday business? What vendor's employees were most always courteous and professional in all that they did when taking care of you and your needs? Were they a printer? A technician? An insurance company? An investment firm? A freight line? A graphics or design firm? An outsource?Consider every vendor you used for 2005. They got paid for doing what they did, but here's a chance to give them an 'attaboy' they should treasure.I've got our best vendor of 2005 for our company. How about you?We have placed a form for you to use to nominate your vendor or vendors, below. Complete a form for each vendor you nominate. Please limit your total submissions to three vendors per company. We need to receive your submission(s) no later than January 15, 2006. As stated previously, you and your business will be kept anonymous, just as we do the names of those who send us questions. Complete all areas of the form, then fax it to (316) 721-2671.If you would like to send an e-mail, you may send it to editor@theqandatimes.com. Be sure to include all of the information on the form.We will print the entire list of 'Best Vendors of 2005' in our February issue.
