Quick fix for damaged hair
**image1:left**Answer: Over coloring is a major cause of damaged hair. Especially to those who color their own hair, and don’t get it done by a professional. If you must color your hair at home, be sure to use a leave-in conditioner or regular conditioning treatment to prevent the hair color from drying out your hair. But, there are a few other reasons that could lead to coarse, damaged hair. Excessive brushing, combing, improper cutting and styling, and even excessive braiding can damage hair. To check for how damaged your hair is, take five or six strands and drop them in a glass of water, then tap them with your finger.  If they sink, they're absorbing water and this is a sign of damage.  If they float, then your hair is healthy, and you want to do all you can to keep it that way.Combing hair with a regular brush while the hair is wet can lead to damage. Try using a pick or plastic comb after taking a bath or shower to help reduce damage. Also, make sure to use conditioner every time you shower to help reduce the stress caused by hair ties and pins.  Excessive heat is also a major culprit, especially for someone who uses a blow-dryer or curling iron on a daily basis. Improper nutrition is another cause of damaged hair. Oils and proteins in your diet can lead to healthier and shinier hair.  You aren’t the only one doing damage to your hair-Mother Nature can play a role in the process as well. UV rays can help in breaking down the cuticle, and drying out the hair over time. Also, cold weather and wind can lead to breakage in the hair. When it comes to processed damaged hair; adding moisture is the key.   Below are tips to bring damaged hair back to life:• Use a conditioning shampoo and daily conditioner• Use a re-conditioning treatment for ten to 15 minutes each week.• Use a leave-in spray treatment before styling your hair, this will prevent heat damage.
