ANSWER: The trend the last few years has defiantly leaned towards the solid colors. We have seen many beige's, browns, gold's, and greens. Home decor, much like the clothing industry goes in cycles. Manufacturers have been introducing much livelier fabrics. While you may still see more conservative fabrics in many sofas and loveseats, notice all the interesting fabrics in throw pillows and chairs. Reds, in every shade are really hot right now. Other popular colors are bright greens and many shades of aqua's. If you are wanting a little more sizzle, try a bolder pattern. The geometric patterns along with a more retro style can really make a bold and stylish statement.
