He was awarded the Air Force and Army Commendation Medal for his actions while serving in the both branches of the Military. Elaine was a teacher by trade. Best time to paint your home
Answer: Interior painting is pretty much a go all year long. If you are wanting painting done in a basement that has a great deal of dampness, then you may need to run a humidifier to thoroughly dry walls and ceilings. Preparation is as important as painting, getting the room ready can take a lot of time, moving furniture, patching holes in walls, covering bad spots that may be the result of leaks. There are a lot of products to assist you in preparation, a sealer or primer for new surfaces is a must. Semi-gloss paint for walls and flat paint on ceilings. It is my feeling that semi-gloss paint will wash or clean better than most flat paints, and boo boos happen oh so often. Exterior painting is a whole different story. Painting should be left up to the professionals for the most part. Best time is in the fall when the 100 degree weather has passed. Trim and facia work are important before painting. Need to check the wood to see that no rot has started, if so replace those boards and prime them thoroughly. It is my thought to prime the boards before they are installed, that way all sides are treated and will last longer than just treating/priming one side of the board. Scraping on surfaces that have not had paint in a long time can be a bear. Clean all areas with a pressure hose to get rid of dirt, grime and other things like insects that have taken up space in and around your guttering. So, to recap, painting interior can be done most anytime, I would be more cautious on exterior work and leave that until the fall of year, spot painting can be done most anytime during good weather.
