How does cool air heat?
ANSWER:  The temperature of the air coming out of the vents should be in the range of 95° to 110°. This temperature may feel cooler than the old furnace vent temperature and is probably more effected by the volume of air moving through the vents than actual temperature difference. Most of the new furnaces will move more air than the older furnaces. Will the "cooler air" warm the house more efficiently and effectively? The quick answer is it won't make much difference. But, the real answer takes more detailed information. To know the actual air temperature of the heat the furnace is putting out requires specific testing. Temperature readings at the furnace and at the vents will determine actual air temperature. When this testing is done, you will know if everything is all right or if you have problems.
