Losing weight for the summer
A: You are right. There are a lot of products out there in the market place to choose from but you have to remember not all products are created equal. Some products are poor to mediocre in their quality because of the way they are produced and what they are made of. Some companies make false claims concerning their success rates as well as their ingredient lists. You also have to remember that it didn’t take you two days or even two months to put on the weight so it won’t take two days or two months to take it off, depending on how much you have to loose. The fact is, losing weight and keeping it off for good is a life style change. There is no miracle cure or overnight success and products that tout “Lose the weight in two weeks” are quick fixes and band aides. You may loose some weight but unless you are willing to make permanent changes the weight will come back. ‘Permanent changes’ doesn’t mean you can never have that brownie...It just means you can’t have three everyday. Losing weight is 90% nutrition. If we give our bodies what they need at the cellular level and feed them proper nutrition, they will do what they are supposed to and you will lose weight. It can be close to impossible to do this with the food out there today. Even our fruits and veggies don’t contain all we need nutritionally and that is why products or supplementation is necessary. Here are some points to consider while looking or choosing products. Many products on the shelves of retail stores or even in exclusive nutrition stores are made according to Food Grade standards. This means that as they are produced they are only quality tested once a month coming off the production line. What may be in one tablet in a bottle may be different than the other. You may or may not be getting all that the label touts because it is impossible unless they are tested and checked more often. You want to find a product that is manufactured according to Pharmaceutical Grade standards. This means the products are checked every 20 minutes coming off the line. This also means that the ingredients in one canister of shake, or one tablet is the same as the next. You are getting what the label says. This is product that is the highest standard of quality. Perhaps it might cost a bit more but over all wouldn’t you rather spend more to get healthy results? I know of people that will buy off the shelf because it costs 9 dollars but they spend those 9 dollars twice a week. After a month they have spent 72 or more to not get results when they could have spent that in the first place to get results. Next month we will discuss weight loss coaching/support, as well as explaining the meal replacement route (if you choose to go that way).
