Losing weight for the summer - series - part 2
A: Last month, we discussed product ingredients/testing results, as well as the mind-set one has to take on in order to properly lose (and keep off) weight. Point #1 being the difference between Food Grade Standards and Pharmaceutical Grade Standards, a point which is very important! We will continue from there. With each program comes coaching.....OR IT SHOULD! Everyone trying to lose weight needs support but they also need good knowledge of the products they choose and what would work best for them to get the best results. If there is no free coaching involved or coaching period you should reconsider. If you do have a coach or a distributor you should be able to ask them any question in regards to their products and their response shouldn’t be, ”I don’t know it just works!”, or “It’s just the best product out there.” Knowledgeable in-house coaching provides accountability and aids in reaching your health and weight loss goals. You want someone who knows their product line inside and out and shows you how to use it properly. Anyone can say “It just works”. You will also find in the nutrition industry many people whose main goal is to make money or get you to join their company before they even ask you about your weight loss goals or health issues. BE LEARY!!! Yes, we all would love to make good money but joining before you even know if the product works? You need to know it works before you consider doing something you might regret or get stuck in later. This is about your weight loss and your health so you need to try the products first!! It shouldn’t be about someone making money. If you are looking at doing shakes as supplementation then you need to find a shake that not only provides you with the right amount and kind of protein but also complete nutrition with the essential vitamins, minerals and fiber too. You don’t want to use just protein shakes as a meal replacement, though the protein in nutritional replacement is also vital. Is it all animal based? Plant based? Both? I have spoken on that before so you know that you need a good balance of both. If you are having two shakes a day as meal replacement and getting your animal based protein with your third regular meal, your shakes should primarily be plant based protein. Diabetics especially should be concerned with how much whey protein you are getting on a daily basis. Referring back to the first point, nutritional value in meal replacement is certainly not equal in all products. Choose your program based on quality of production, quality of coaching and quality of nutrition and protein. The value you receive will take care of itself.
