Know your local candidates - part 2
Q&A Times: You are against the PPAHCA aka Obama-Care. How can it be dealt with here in Kansas and what else can be done to address the soaring cost of health insurance and heath care in general? Locke: I am dismayed by the lack of respect for state's rights and individual liberty presented by the unconstitutional ObamaCare mandate to buy insurance. I still see this as a coersive depiction of the use of taxation to engineer and direct society. And any coersion by way of tax policy or any other method to the point of using the force of a firearm is unacceptable in our model of liberty and pursuit of happiness by the indidvidual. Simply put ObamaCare is a job-killer and will lead to the death of the free-market system of healthcare choice and doctors rights to serve their patients with the BEST practices that are available. And what can we do to address the cost of healthcare in Kansas? First restore liberty by proposing a Healthcare Freedom Amendment to block Obamacare to be voted on by the People. Secondly, remove the prohibition of buying health insurance across state lines. Thirdly, allow small businesses, churches, and civic groups to join together so that price bidding for insurance can be lowered. The bigger the group the lower the rate that can be negotiated. My opponent voted twice to block the use of a Healthcare Freedom Amendment and in effect told us one and all that we need to shut up and take our medicine from the Federal Government. We need reform for healthcare but having the federal government take it over from the top down is, pardon the pun, OVERKILL! And it bears repeating that just because you have insurance does not mean you will be able to find a doctor or any secure source of healthcare. The People will have their right to vote to block the mandate and protect their religious and conscience objections of Obama-Care if they hire me to work for them.
