What's new this year?
Peter Salmeron Question:  What can one expect to see at the Wichita Garden Show this year?Answer:  People come from all over the USA to the Wichita Garden Show. Here’s three good reasons to see the Show this year.       I’ve been involved with the Wichita Garden Show for more than 10 years. Each year the beauty, the incredible elements of the gardens, such as giant waterfalls crashing 10-20 feet or a waterfall you can walk under, or 300 tons of boulders, new and unusual plants—it all just keeps getting better and more spectacular. There are 13 gardens and they are valued at 1/2 million dollars. Every year, show goers shake their heads and say over and over, "How do they do it?" Even if you have no real interest in learning anything about gardening, it’s worth the admission just to see what new and amazing features you will find in the gardens.      The second reason for attending is the Board of Directors chose a theme for 2002 that would proclaim a real celebration of Spring to help relieve the tensions of last year’s tragedies, current issues- such as economy, taxes- and other woes. The Show Theme is "Celebration of Color". The halls will be transformed by dazzling and brilliant colors of countless numbers of flowers that proclaim Spring’s promise of hope and renewal. Many people spend hours just sitting and enjoying the springtime wonderland in the midst of winter. It is a real celebration of spring!      The third reason targets those who are interested in improving their yard, adding a new deck, perhaps a pool or finding out what to plant. Experts say the trend is for people to spend more time at home. This is the year to turn your yard into that special place you have always wanted to have for your family. The Wichita Garden Show provides unique opportunities to help you accomplish the task: A) It’s a place where every question you have about any phase of gardening and yards can be answered by yard industry experts: commercial vendors, Extension Service Experts, Botanica, garden clubs – Everywhere you turn there will be people who have practical and technical knowledge and who are eager to help you answer your questions. B) The Show is a mecca of IDEAS – landscaping, chemicals, grass, decks, gazebo, yard accessories. Ideas! Ideas! Ideas and products by the thousands to help you create the yard you’ve dreamed of for your family; and, C) You can also find out how to do it yourself if you prefer or you will be able to find someone to hire who meets your budget and can implement your plans. Everything you need is right there – no need to run to 20 places across town or spend hours on the telephone.      For additional information about details: Visit the Wichita Garden Show web:www.360wichita.com or http://www.wichitagardenshow.com/
