What is reverse osmosis?
ANSWER: Reverse osmosis, also known as hyper filtration, is the finest filtration known. It consists of a series of filters used to remove contaminants from water. This process will allow the removal of particles as small as ions from a solution. Reverse osmosis is used to purify water and remove salts and other impurities in order to improve the color, taste or properties of the fluid. It is used to produce water that meets the most demanding specifications that are currently in place.    If you are on city water, you need to know if your water contains contaminants such as lead, chlorine or nitrates. If it does, then you need to have further testing done. Being on city water allows you to have the choice of having just acceptable water or perfect water with help from a reverse osmosis system. If your water comes from a well, you are responsible for the quality of water in your home. You should have it tested annually to check for contaminants and bacteria. Many times when you have well water, there is bacteria or a contaminant that is higher than the federal guidelines. This is where the need for a reverse osmosis system comes in with the possibility of other equipment to keep your water safe.
