Chris Veazey Brown Question: What Can We Expect At Women's Fair 2004?Answer: Women want to feel good, look great, live well, stay healthy & fit and to find ways to manage their busy lives. That's what Women's Fair is all about!The lineup for the Women's Fair 2004 will include a workshop and personal appearance by Frank Bielec, designer and on-air personality for TLC's popular TV show "Trading Spaces." His appearance at the Home Depot booth will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and is sure to entertain as well as inform. Home Depot will be busy all three days with their "Do It Herself" clinics. Everyone will want to drop by their booth and register to win the "Home Depot Room Makeover". In addition, the sixth annual Fair, Feb. 20-22 at Century II, will showcase more than 275 exhibitors offering health and fitness tips, gourmet cuisine, makeovers, information about education and investments, breast cancer screenings, home-decorating ideas, pet care,  entertainment, hobbies, car maintenance, vacation information -- and shopping galore. More than 100 local and regional merchants will feature an array of unique products geared to women of all ages, including jewelry, cosmetics, clothing, shoes, gift items, organizing gadgets, house wares, home decor, furniture, gourmet foods, health products, children's clothing, office products, even automobiles. Highlights this year include a business workshop presented by Laura Stack, a nationally recognized personal productivity expert; an appearance by Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas Cassidine on "General Hospital"; and the KZSN Country Concert with music star Chad Brock, whose latest hit is "She Said Yes." Brock will headline the musical entertainment with a performance on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Following his performance, he'll be available to sign autographs. Brock's first big hit was the 1999 "Ordinary Life," followed by "Yes!" and a new version of  "A Country Boy Can Survive" sung with Hank Williams Jr. and George Jones.  Tyler Christopher, a four-year veteran of "General Hospital", has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. He also has appeared on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "JAG," "The Pretender" and "Charmed." A Native American, he'll host a charity luncheon while in Wichita to benefit Wichita's Keeper of the Plains statue. Native American children will perform on stage prior to Tyler's appearance with Susan Seal performing sign language to "I'm Proud To Be An American".Both men and women are invited to attend Friday afternoon's Business Workshop starting at 1 p.m. In her workshop, sponsored by American Express Financial Planners and B-98 FM, Laura Stack, "The Productivity PRO," will help professionals, managers, staff and business owners "Master Personal Productivity". Participants will learn practical, real-life ways to manage multiple priorities, and balance work and family to be better organized and reduce stress. Laura's high-profile clients include IBM, Mobil Oil, Coca-Cola, VISA, Lockheed Martin and MCI.Women's Fair 2004 hours are: Noon to 8 p.m. Friday, February 20; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 21; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 22. Admission is $5 for adults, $4.50 for seniors and $3.50 for children. (Children 5 and under are free) To facilitate parking, a free shuttle will operate from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The Women's Fair is produced by Chris Veazey Brown and Deanna Wheeler, two Wichita women who co-founded it six years ago. The show has continued to grow with more than 11,000 attending last year, drawing women from as far away as Goodland, Dodge City, Salina, Kansas City and well into Oklahoma.We hope you will make this a well-deserved day out -- a gift to yourself. QUESTION:  What's new at The Women's Fair this year?

ANSWER:  This is the Women's Fair's fifth year and it is continuing to grow -- both in number of exhibitors and attendees.  There are all kinds of things you will see new.  The dates are February 21-23, 2003.  The show will include a Women's Business Workshop featuring nationally known business speaker Susan Carnahan. She has appeared on CNN Live as an authority on gender communication and has shared the stage with such professionals as General Colin Powell, Barbara Bush, Barbara Walters, fighter pilot Scott O'Grady and Geraldine Ferraro. The February 21, three hour Workshop will be divided into two sessions: "How To Manage Your Mouth!" and "What's Sex Got To Do With It?" These humorous, content-driven messages will motivate and make long-term, meaningful changes in the professional and daily lives of managers, human resources personnel, sales, medical professionals, business owners administrative assistants, customer service representatives and team leaders. Of course the Fair will still include all of the features that women have come to expect and look forward to, but each year new exhibitors, products and activities are added. My partner, Deanna Wheeler, and I credit our show's unique blend of marketplace shopping, demonstrations, seminars, entertainment and educational opportunities as the reason for its growth and success.Over 300 booths will be staffed by experts on a variety of topics such as careers, retirement planning, investments, health and wellness, home-buying, and a myriad of other topics. Many will also offer mini-workshops.We are fond of saying, "From fun to informative, if it's of interest to women, it's at the Women's Fair", and this year's Fair is brimming with fun things to do and see. Such popular features as fashion and hair shows, cooking demonstrations, make-overs and music groups will be back as will the popular Shopping Marketplace, which features nearly 100 boutiques set up by local and regional retailers. Shoppers will find everything from jewelry, cosmetics, clothes and shoes to floral arrangements, home decor, health products and gourmet food items. It's a unique mix of retailers and service providers you won't find anywhere else under one roof.   Again, this year's Women's Fair is February 21-23 at Century II.
